Abdul Muid’s research interests focus on instrumentation physics, particularly the development of sensors for monitoring systems and early warning mechanisms aimed at mitigating the impact of peatland fire disasters. He has received several research grants, including a doctoral dissertation research grant in 2019–2020 entitled Development of an Early Detection System for Peatland Fires in West Kalimantan.
